Welcome to Blue Red Laced .com

Within these pages we hope to educate, entertain and inform you while attempting to increase the popularity of this rare and exiting variety of poultry. There certainly are very few other varieties that have as much to offer as the blue laced red Wyandottes. To see the three different laced color variants in a yard is spectacular to say the least. The blue laced red wyandottes are a dual purpose breed that lay good-sized brown eggs, with the males reaching a weight  of 8 1/2 pounds. Those few who own these birds will tell you that the blue laced red Wyandottes are extremely docile and friendly poultry that have even known to frequently hop up on your lap.

The blue laced red (or BLR’s) Wyandottes are somewhat new to the United States and are still a work in progress. There is still much work to be done, including overall “type”, size, color, lacing and many other characteristics that still do not measure up to the current A.P.A. standards for Wyandottes, let alone a new color variety.
